The Obi-Kwankwaso Movement, popularly known as the OK Movement, has constituted a 59-member Presidential Campaign Council as part of its preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The council comprises zonal and state coordinators as well as directors overseeing key areas of the campaign, including mobilisation, women affairs, strategy and planning, security, legal affairs, administration and information technology.
The movement is a political support platform backing the joint presidential ticket of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Under the new structure, John Ughulu, the movement’s Director-General, will serve as Director-General of the campaign council, while National Secretary Saadatu Sani is also listed among the campaign leadership.
The council has representatives covering Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, the Federal Capital Territory and all 36 states, with the structure designed to drive mobilisation and engagement from the national level down to local communities.
Zonal coordinators
The movement named Suleiman Abubakar as North-Central coordinator, Hashimu Dungurawa for North-West, Amadu Gwambe for North-East, Dr Adebayo Adefolaseye for South-West, Christopher Ighodaro for South-South and El-Shaddai Ikeh for South-East.
Ibrahim Jabir was named coordinator for the Federal Capital Territory.
Other appointments include Sabo Gashua as Director of Grassroots Mobilisation, Glory Adayi as Director of Women Affairs, Kabir Yahaya as Director of Contact and Engagement and Abdumumini Tijjani as Director of Mobilisation.
Yusuf Mani was appointed Director of Special Duties, Peace Daful Director of Procurement, Sunmisola Adebayo Director of Information Technology, Kingdom Okere Director of Legal Affairs and Abiodun Dabiri Director of Strategy and Planning.
Richard Enemona, a retired CSP, will oversee Security and Intelligence, while Aisha Abdulrahaman was appointed Director of Administration.
‘Mission is Nigeria’
In a statement announcing the appointments, Saadatu Sani described the selection of council members as a call to duty and tasked them with taking the movement’s message to Nigerians across states, local government areas, wards and communities.
She said the campaign structure would require strategic planning, grassroots mobilisation, effective communication and cooperation among its members.
The movement said its objective is to build a nationwide organisational structure capable of engaging supporters across the 36 states and the FCT ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The development represents another step in the political activities surrounding the proposed Obi-Kwankwaso joint ticket ahead of the 2027 presidential contest.
